Marty Carter
As a native of Davie County, Marty has many fond memories of growing up near his grandparent's farm in Yadkin Valley (now Hillsdale) community. Here he learned the values of honesty, hard work and love of family.

Marty graduated from Davie High School and went on to earn a BS degree in Accounting from Wake Forest University. He was recruited by the international accounting firm of Ernst and Young and obtained his CPA certification while on staff there. Leaving Ernst, Marty went on to an exciting but short-lived career in the airline industry with Piedmont Airlines in Winston-Salem. After Piedmont's merger with US Air, Marty served as corporate controller for a large southeastern service business for three years.

In 1992, Marty made the decision to leave the corporate world and join his father, Craig Carter in the family home building business. Within two years annual sales more than doubled and the firm went on to be recognized as one of the premier homebuilders in the Piedmont North Carolina area. In service to his community, Marty served for six years on the Davie County Board of Education. During his tenure on the board, he was a vocal proponent of increased state and local spending for public education; better local planning for future needs, and reduced school sizes especially at the middle and high school levels.

Marty brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to your new home decision. He has strengths in all aspects of new home construction, especially in the early cost estimation and planning process. Marty is past president of the Davie County HBA and active in the Home Builders Association work.

Marty and Renee have been married over 20 years and have three wonderful children, Matt, Luke and Paige.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you make your dream of a new home a reality.

Geraldine Carter
Geraldine grew up in eastern Davie County. The daughter of farmers, she has five brothers and one sister. While raising two children and helping Craig with his home building, she and Craig's mother Sallie started their own business for Holly Farms, which they ran for many years.

She joined Craig full-time in 1984 and today, in addition to handling the day-to-day work of Craig Carter Builder, Geraldine offers clients valuable assistance in decorating their new homes. Some want only a few helpful suggestions; others, knowing they can put complete faith in her eye for color and flair for design, ask her to handle every aspect—from picking out light fixtures to choosing paint color and carpeting.

Geraldine enjoys skiing and biking with Craig, as well as frequent forays into local antique shops with her daughter.

Craig Carter
Craig was born in rural eastern Davie County, the son of a brick mason. Working with his father from an early age, he began a lifetime involvement with home building. He graduated from Davie High School, married his high school sweetheart, Geraldine, and joined the Army. While stationed at Fort Bragg, he and Geraldine had two children, Tonya and Martin. Craig attained the rank of sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division and obtained his parachutist badge, participating in more than thirty airborne jumps.

After three years' of military service, Craig returned to Davie County. He worked for a large utility contractor for several years and built homes part time.
